*C**ome join our home services team of leading professionals! We are the leading provider of high-quality senior lifestyle services and are currently seeking Homemakers/Companions per diem with potential for part time and full time schedules.*

*GENERAL SUMMARY: *Our homemakers performs tasks that enable the client to remain in the home by supplementing the client's abilities for home management. Our homemakers will not function in any manner viewed as the practice of nursing according to the Florida’s Nurse Practice Act. Specifically, the homemaker will not administer medications, take physician's orders or perform procedures requiring the training, knowledge and skill of a licensed nurse. They will also not be involved in providing any direct personal or health care to the client unless he/she also meets the specific qualifications of a paraprofessional as outlined in the policies and procedures.

*Essential Job Duties: *

* Assists clients in non-personal, non-nursing self-care activities.

* Provides homemaking services for the ill, injured, impaired, disabled or aged.

* Observes the client for changes in general physical and mental conditions. Reports any changes noted to the care coordinator or supervisor.

* Keeps the home clean and orderly; to include washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen after meals.

* Plans meals and purchases food and household supplies, as appropriate.

* Prepares and serves nutritious meals according to the client’s and caregiver's needs and the client's services delivery plan.

* Assists the client and caregiver in the practice of safety, hygiene, and good nutrition where possible.

* Does client’s laundry

* Adheres to the documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.

* Must be at least eighteen years of age.

* Has had at least one year of successful employment experience as a homemaker, and work or life experience as a homemaker.

* Successfully completes the homemaker/companion competency evaluation.

* Has the ability to read and follow written instructions and document services provided.

* Has empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and impaired.

* Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and organization requirements and is in good working order OR must maintain a safe and efficient method of transportation aimed at arriving to work as scheduled.

Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting; may be exposed to blood and bodilyfluids which may contain HIV and/or HBV; must be able to transport residents via wheelchair, Geri Chair or shower chair, pushing up to 150 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to transfer, lift, turn and position a resident weighing up to 125 lbs. unassisted, or with the assistance of one for a resident weighing over 125 lbs. Must be able to stoop, bend, stretch, squat, stand, and walk for up to 90% of the work day. May be subjected to offensive odors and combative behavior. Must be able to reach up to a level of six feet; must be able to push a dietary cart up to 40 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. occasionally.
