About the job

Under the general direction of the Director for Sustainability, this position oversees the UT Dallas sustainability education and outreach initiatives. The Sustainability Coordinator, in conjunction with Facilities Management, will work collaboratively with faculty, staff and student organizations to encourage and promote sustainable practices on campus. This position should work to build a culture of sustainability that promotes best practices through a variety of activities, including: green office programs, sustainability service initiatives, newsletters, social media, Eco Reps Programs, and various outreach activities.

Minimum Education And Experience

Bachelor's Degree with 1-3 years of experience in Environmental/Sustainability education, outreach or project leadership and working in higher education. An equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.

Must have and maintain an Texas Driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Preferred Education And Experience

Master's degree in a related field; LEED Green Associate

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and oversee sustainability programs and projects in collaboration with students, faculty, staff, departments, and community members in order to meet sustainability goals.

Oversee marketing and communications for the Office of Sustainability; including social media, web content, newsletters, student communication, and other duties as assigned.

Provide administrative support for the Office of Sustainability; including managing work requests, scheduling meetings, creating agendas, preparing minutes, and other duties as assigned.

Provide operational support for the Office of Sustainability; including setting up and breaking down events, collecting supplies or materials, collecting special stream recycling, and other duties as assigned.

Represents UTD Office of Sustainability at various campus events and committees.
