  • Manage and develop a portfolio of projects & clients for contaminated sites work, in either federal or provincial regulated regimes, including, but not limited to: Phase I/II ESAs, soil and sediment management, risk assessments, remediation
  • Develop business with existing as well as new clients, including assisting with proposal pursuits
  • Responsible for Project Management, including contract administration, cost and budget control, scheduling, client communication and liaising, and preparation and implementation of scopes of work
  • Direct technical work as part of a multi-disciplinary project team completing contaminated sites work
  • Oversee data compilation, analysis, and evaluation using the application of engineering principles and problem solving skills
  • Coordinate preparation, and complete review of technical documents, including draft work plans, reports, and correspondence for internal Senior Technical Review
  • Ensure GHD Project Management, Health and Safety and Quality Management Systems adhered to during project life cycle
  • Lead project management meetings
  • Supervise and mentor technical staff
  • Management and completion of Phase I and II ESAs, following both CSA requirements and the requirements of Ontario Regulation 153/04 for Record of Site Condition properties
  • Completion of Conceptual Site Models and Risk Management Plans in support of Risk Assessments and Records of Site Condition
  • Preparation of soil management documents in accordance with Ontario’s Regulation 406/19
  • Organizing and leading the field portion of projects including pre-field planning such as budget, safety, and equipment planning
  • Other duties as assigned/required

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Geoscientist, and eligible to act as a Qualified Person for Environmental Site Assessments under Ontario Regulation 153/04.
  • Have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in the environmental field
  • Have broad experience in the areas of environmental due diligence, including Phase I and II ESAs, and remedial programs
  • Have thorough knowledge of Ontario Regulation 153/04 and 416/19, including the filing of Records of Site Condition, and demonstrated experience preparing and submitting documents to MECP under O. Reg.153/04
  • Possess excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, including technical report writing and reviewing experience
  • Have demonstrated project management skills, including strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and tight timelines.
  • Experience interpreting and applying environmental management legislation, regulations and policies, including Ontario Regulation 153/04
  • Experience characterizing excess soil for large construction projects, including the preparation and implementation of soil management and tracking plans
  • Liaison with environmental regulatory agencies, non-government agencies, public and private resource development agencies.
  • Experience in mentoring staff
