Accurate Personnel is hiring for a Polymer Manufacturing Engineer for our client in the manufacturing industry in Pompano Beach, FL. The Polymer Manufacturing Engineer's role is to find improvement potentials in manufacturing, analyze processes, find possible solutions, drive the decision process and implement improvements with teams of people of different departments and backgrounds. The Polymer Manufacturing Engineer will focus on initiatives regarding injection molding and the process up and downstream of this technology.

This is a full-time position, generally scheduled weekdays. Relocation Benefits are included for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities

Find potential for opportunities by analyzing production patterns and technical requirements
Review drawings of parts, shop floor
Conduct process analysis with operators, Methods technicians and supervisors
Speak to vendors on technical options to improve production processes
Present findings to peers and management, propose solutions
Observe production runs
Plan, justify and execute projects
Draft justifications based on safety, quality of parts, ROI
Lead and manage capital investment projects to achieve the planned outcome, the timeline and budget
Track savings/improvements against plan, adjust as needed
Source new molds and mold equipment (screw, barrel), arrange their repairs and alterations, manage the maintenance on the molds
Work with the product development group to start production on new developed products
Participate and lead LEAN events (5S of work area, LEAN & 5S workshops)
Educate others
Train operators on new processes, document process in Work instructions

Requirements and Qualifications

4-year degree in mechanical engineering or alternative equivalent experience or combination of education and experience are accepted
Certifications for molding are a plus
Minimum 2-year experience in working in an injection molding role
Minimum 4-year experience in working in an industrial facility
Demonstrated experience in managing projects and capital projects
Experience with of machining processes like grinding, turning, milling or deburring on plastic components
Experience with basic mold design and design of screws and barrels
Ability to determine heat treatment on injection molded parts (chilling, stress relief) and mold components for repair or design
Able to use mechanical gauges to take measurements, and to understand geometrical tolerances GDT and check parts against it
Intermediate to advanced computer skills including
Able to analyze data in excel with formulas, Pivot charts
AutoCAD 2D drafting for floor layouts, 3D drafting experience
Experience using ERP software like SAP is a plus
Ability and experience to use hand tools to assemble, disassemble, cut, drill
Ability and experience to work with people from diverse cultural and educational background
Demonstrated experience creating and delivering technical presentations
Experience managing teams, work within a team
