Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal Software Quality Engineering 3/4 to be located at our site in Boulder, CO.

Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains standards for software quality operating methods, processes, systems and procedures. Conducts software inspection, testing, verification and validation. Implements software development and maintenance processes and methods. Ensures measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives. Ensures that project and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contract. Reviews software design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements. Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Performs or directs verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability.

Must have ability to travel across the state of Colorado and be able to enter U.S. Military bases. Up to 10% travel. Put your years of experience into a future of excellence... The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Mission Assurance organization.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Develop, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing Software and Materials into partially finished or finished product.
Collaborate with software engineering and systems engineering functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of software and completed systems.
Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment.
Conduct quality assurance tests and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for software products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
Assists Software Engineering in reporting metrics to the SCRUM process including monitoring and assisting with the Epics, Sprints, Spirals, and Discrepancy Reports (DR) entry, resolution, closure and metrics around DR.
Assist and sometimes sub in where needed as a Hardware quality engineer.
Cross-trained to the hardware quality engineer positions in the department.

Basic Qualifications:

Level 3:

Bachelor's degree in a related STEM field.
5+ Years of related experience in supporting systems analysis, systems integration, software analysis, software development, software test processes, or program management with Bachelors in Science OR 3+ Years with Masters
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and self-motivation
Ability to obtain a D.O.D. Secret clearance

Level 4:

Bachelor's degree in a related STEM field.
9+ Years of related experience in supporting systems analysis, systems integration, software analysis, software development, software test processes, or program management with Bachelors in Science OR 7+ Years with Masters OR 4+ Years with PhD
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and self-motivation
Ability to obtain a D.O.D. Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Level 3/4:

Experience in embedded software development
Six Sigma Green Belt certification
Working understanding of the specific CMMI and AS9100 Standards affecting program performance.
Experience in Agile development
An active DoD Secret clearance (level 3) / Active DoD Top Secret Clearance (level 4)

Salary Range: $83,800 USD - $125,800 USD
Salary Range 2: $103,900 USD - $155,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
