Parsons is now hiring experienced Engineers with a desire to work on sustainable and resilient infrastructure projects. The successful candidate may work remotely in the US. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, versatile, enthusiastic and able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Capable of managing and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to assess impacts of projects on the natural and built environment, in this role you will complete a variety of engineering assignments throughout a project’s life cycle, applying sustainability and resilience concepts and analysis techniques to planning, design, construction, and operational activities. As a technical or team leader on complex infrastructure projects in various business Markets, the role also requires exceptional communication, analytical, and management skills. Project delivery duties may include project planning, preparation of calculations, studies, and reports, interdisciplinary coordination, public outreach, management of budget and schedule, management of technical staff members and subconsultants, and client communication. Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations is expected.
Support of corporate sustainability initiatives may also be required, including participation in the preparation of core value metrics and other public Environment, Social, Governance (ESG) disclosures, creation of educational and training materials for internal and external use, and representing Parsons in professional organizations and at industry conferences.
Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately.
Performs and manages various aspects of complex planning, design, and construction of sustainable infrastructure and climate resilience projects, including but not limited to: developing technical strategies and methodologies to meet defined performance and prescriptive sustainability requirements and specifications; performing risk and vulnerability assessments (e.g. sea level rise evaluations); preparing and assembling documentation according to third-party sustainability certification frameworks (e.g. LEED or Envision); performing greenhouse gas inventories and Life Cycle Analyses (LCA).
Serves in a technical leadership role, as a Subject Matter Expert, Technical Manager, and/or Task Leader and supervisor to other sustainability team members, and act as the main sustainability point of contact with clients.
Performs Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) reviews of plans, design drawings, calculations and any other sustainability deliverables.
Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
Provides management, oversight, and mentorship to mid-level and junior level staff in their performance of technical tasks related to sustainability and resilience.
Participates in business development and marketing activities, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
Support the Director of Sustainability and Resilience as needed for tasks that support the Sustainability Working Group and the ESG steering committee, such as corporate policy development, metrics tracking, and reporting.
May participate in one or more professional organizations.
May write and/or review articles written by others for publication in professional journals.
The median pay $107,000
Bachelor’s degree or above in architecture, engineering, planning, or related field with 8+ years of experience in corporate and/or project sustainability.
Professional Engineer (PE) license, or equivalent, preferred.
At least one sustainability professional credential, such as the LEED AP or ENV SP (additional credentials a plus).
Experience preparing project-specific and program-wide sustainability and resilience plans.
Documented completion of third-party certification planning, administration, and documentation (e.g. U.S. Green Building Council/LEED, Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure/Envision, etc.).
Familiarity with ISO 14040 and 14044 compliant Environmental Life Cycle Assessments and greenhouse gas inventory preparation, and ISO 31000 Risk Management principles and framework
Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required.
The anticipated annualized full time target compensation (median) for this position is: $120,000.00.
