About The Position
The Intermediate Planner supports the Policy and Planning Team at Integral Group on a wide variety of climate action and urban sustainability and planning projects including but not limited to:
Strategic climate resilience planning
Climate risk and vulnerability assessment for buildings and community scales
Support select decarbonization and sustainability planning projects
Policy development, land use planning, and master planning
Research and report writing, including generation of tables and graphics
Stakeholder workshop & public process design and implementation
Good communication skills are essential as our team's primary business is client management, research, crafting well-written reports, and facilitating collaborative problem-solving efforts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and able to move between a wide range of complex topics on a given day - focused multi-tasking is a necessity. The position resides in a supportive team environment and the expectation is that the candidate contributes positively to the culture, cohesion, and overall productivity of the team.
Receive and execute instructions from senior team members and be responsible and accountable for completing the assigned projects or tasks with required level of quality, on schedule, and on budget
Take initiative and carry out tasks from start to finish
University degree in Planning, Architecture, Environmental Studies, Resource Management, Engineering or Public Policy/Administration, or have similar qualifications combined with relevant experience
Experienced in undertaking complex quantitative and qualitative analysis of climate change and sustainability issues, and preparing comprehensive research reports
Experience in financial analysis (e.g. cost-benefit analysis), graphic design and/or advanced computer analysis including GIS, data analytics, and interactive dashboard creation considered an asset
2 – 4 years of related experience in climate planning and sustainability work in a professional environment
Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset
Eligibility for membership in a Provincial professional association (PIBC, AIBC, APEGBC) is desired but not required
