As a site EHS Manager, you will ensure plant level EHS programs, policies, procedures, and systems are developed, implemented and sustained to ensure compliance with local, national regulatory requirements and conformance with Eaton Corporation mandates.

You will;
Provides environmental, health, safety, and security leadership to the Site
Create a strong zero incident EHS culture and facilitate employee engagement through kaizen events, safety observation culture and weekly GEMBA walks
Develops/maintains all required written safety instructions, e.g., HazCom, BBP, Hearing Conservation, LO/TO, PPE Assessments
Ensures all required plant safety inspections are performed and documented, e.g., fire extinguishers, fire risers, emergency response equipment, safety showers, eye wash stations, emergency lights, ladders, housekeeping and that corrective actions are completed for identified deficiencies
Assists in the performance of accident and near-miss investigations and ensures root causes are identified and corrective actions implemented
Is active in Workers Representative Committee meetings.
Ensures required employee health and safety training is completed on-time and documented.
Compiles required safety information for reporting to government agencies and to Eaton performance metric measurement databases.
Coordinates the IH hazard assessment and monitoring program for measuring and documenting employee exposures
Support the maintenance and development of the Quality Management System in line with the requirements of the ISO 9001 Quality Standard.
Environmental
Prepares and submit all required environmental permit applications/renewals and routine agency reports.
Manage all plant waste disposal activity to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
Develops/maintains plant emergency response plans and ensures drills are performed to document plan effectiveness. May serve as the plant emergency coordinator.
Reviews plant environmental permits and ensures terms and conditions are understood and complied with, ensures required documentation is maintained and required regulatory reports are submitted to the respective agency, e.g., air discharge permits, storm water discharge permits.
Evaluates proposed projects and proposed new chemicals and ensures plans are in-place and implemented to address EHS compliance issues.
Supports and/or directs the plant’s ISO 14001 EMS
Ensures required employee environmental training is completed on-time and documented.
May perform training.
Develops and implements plant programs, policies and procedures to conform with Eaton EHS mandates, e.g., EHS Directives.
Investigates environmental incidents/accidents to determine root causes and prepares and implements corrective action plans
Participates in corporate MESH assessments.
Health & Safety (If a combined job with environmental)
Develops/maintains all required written safety instructions, e.g., HazCom, BBP, Hearing Conservation, LO/TO, PPE Assessments
Ensures all required plant safety inspections are performed and documented, e.g., fire extinguishers, fire risers, emergency response equipment, safety showers, eye wash stations, emergency lights, ladders, housekeeping and that corrective actions are completed for identified deficiencies
Assists in the performance of accident and near-miss investigations and ensures root causes are identified and corrective actions implemented
Ensures the MSDS database is up-to-date for all materials
Is active in Workers Representative Committee meetings.
Ensures Work Station Risk Assessments are completed.
Ensures required employee health and safety training is completed on-time and documented.
Delivers training.
Compiles required safety information for reporting to government agencies and to Eaton performance metric measurement databases.
Coordinates the Industrial Hygiene hazard assessment and monitoring program for measuring and documenting employee exposures
Evaluates operational performance of the group in order to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, job transfers, dismissals, commendations, etc.
Coordinates and assists with corporate initiatives, participating on teams in order to drive best practices across Eaton Corp. sharing lessons learned.
Support the maintenance and development of the Quality Management System in line with the requirements of the ISO 9001 Quality Standard.
Deploys behavioral safety programmes and safety and provides coaching and mentoring to MESH Champions.
Required:
Thorough knowledge of RCRA requirements
Detailed comprehension of industry/state/country specific environmental, health, and safety requirements.
Thorough knowledge of Hazard Materials Handling and Emergency Response requirements
Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams
Demonstrate previous experience in a manufacturing environment
