Opportunity to join and make a positive impact in contributing to the renewable energy projects across Victoria.
Victoria is currently undergoing a rapid transition to a decentralised and renewable electricity grid and the adoption of large-scale renewable energy generation. The role of the Engagement and Partnerships Officer is to work on building social licence for projects related to Renewable Energy Zones across Victoria, and projects to achieve the Victorian Renewable Energy Target.
The project includes staff across the state responsible for building social licence through engagement activities. One of the key deliverables is to implement a state-wide regional engagement strategy for renewable energy.
The Engagement and Partnerships Officer works with regional and state Community Partnerships and Engagement teams, Forest, Fire and Regions Group (FFRG), communication staff and the Energy Division to help improve regional community understanding and social acceptance of renewable energy facilities through the provision of quality engagement activities, to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Qualification and experience or relevant demonstrated experience in communications, community engagement, and social science. Knowledge of and experience in applying the IAP2 spectrum.
Knowledge and experience of the Victorian government’s vision and strategies for Renewable Energy including knowledge of local regional context and opportunities.
This is a fixed term position until 30 June 2023. This position is located within the Hume region and can be negotiable within the region.
